What to do around here

Walk down the original 1890’s marble staircase of Hilton Brighton Metropole, and out into the chic boutique-lined streets of central Brighton. The historic area of Brighton Lanes contains antique, jewelry and cult clothing stores in its meandering confines. Enjoy coffee and cakes on a pavement table in the lanes where Charles II once reputedly made his escape route from Cromwell’s New Model Army. Take a walking tour of the Lanes to learn their history, or simply make some time for drinks with friends in numerous cozy bars and cafés.

Delighting and educating visitors for 140 years, the Victorian architecture of Brighton Sea Life Centre is almost as spectacular as the exhibits inside. Walk through the underwater tunnels and see sharks glide elegantly by. Get up close to smaller sea life such as starfish in the touch pools. Take the kids on the glass bottom boat ride to watch turtles swimming beneath you.
